XXL Comb and footswitch problem

Post by RocklandSally » Sat Jun 11, 2022 8:17 pm

Glad I found this forum.. Hoping someone can help..

Just picked up a Peavey XXL 212 combo with the metal footswitch

7 PIN DIN plugged into the footswitch and the back amp jack.. all pins seem straight...

Amp turned to Ultra channel... so far so good

The footswitch only switches between the LEAD and Ultra Channel... nothing happens when I click CLEAN...

I can switch the channels by hand on the amp no problem...

anyone know what I should look for on the motherboard in the footswitch to tell me I have a short or its fried?

I order a new 7 pin cable off Amazon.ca just to make sure it isnt the cables thats dead

any advice would be great !

cheers

Manual says the channel switch has to be in the ultra position for the footswitch to work properly.

Well, I acidently sent reply before I finished.

So it sounds like you will have to trace the non functioning switch circuit. It could be the cable. You'll know after you change it. Could be the switch. Look for bad solder joints while you work on it.
