I was given an old Combo 300, with a BW in it.. haven't played anything but guitars through it yet.. It's pretty heavy for me, I generally play much lighter gear now that I'm getting old.. anyhow...
I got to thinking it might be a good platform for pedal steel.. I have a second BW 15" that could be added, to make it a 2X15" rig.. anybody used these before? Impressions, good or bad? BTW, I'm not currently gigging, so weight isn't really an issue for me..
Thought it might be an interesting topic.
Anybody play pedal steel thru a Combo 300?

So plug into it and wail, they you tell us what it sounds like. Seems like a reasonable amp for this.
I have played guitar since 1966... And I still suck. I would love to play pedal steel, but I know better than to frustrate myself. A zillion pedal steel players with Peaveys can't be wrong.

One of these days I'll have to try it, yeah. The amp came into my garage, and has not moved.. lol I started playing guitar in 1962, I hear ya. Been dabbling with various steel guitars for a long time, but I'm still not a pro level player by any measure. I bought a Vegas 400, years ago, but it had been tampered with.. never got it right. If I get to feeling strong, I'll drag it in the house, try to play through it. Amp is quite impressive with electric guitar. Love those big old BW 15" speakers.Enzo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 2:12 pmSo plug into it and wail, they you tell us what it sounds like. Seems like a reasonable amp for this.
