Peavey Mace 320T, no Tremolo?

Post by GRose » Fri Dec 24, 2021 12:02 pm

Hello everyone, new member here, far from new to using Peavey gear though!

I’ve just bought possibly the cleanest 1976 Peavey Mace 320T in the U.K, loving the tone of the thing! (Gotta treat yourself for Christmas too right?)

Couple of tech questions:

The back panel says 120VAC, but I’m guessing Peavey just didn’t bother changing the screen print on them when exporting them to the U.K. back then? (It didn't catch fire while I was trying it out anyway, so it’s obviously been set up to run 240V)

The Tremolo doesn’t seem to be working at all on any channel input, do I need to buy an Automixer pedal to kick it in, or is there some kind of common fault that stops it working?

Maybe someone’s removed the chip for the tremolo because it was bleeding through when turned right down? (I’ve read about people having issues with the phaser still being audible when turned off on the VT models?)

Anyone know what brand of 6L6 Peavey was relabelling in ‘76? They sound great!
