5150 combo using effects out for w/d/w set up.

Post by Reeves » Sun Oct 03, 2021 11:11 am

I'm trying to use the "effects out" to send to a "effects in" to a different amp. (Marshall s80 stereo chorus) Going to use an eventide micropitch to make a w/d/w set up to see if I like the sound before I buy good stuff to do it right....
When I hook the "effects out" to the "effects in" of the other amp, the sound is very faint even with the volume turned almost all the way up on the marshall...I have tried hooking to the effects in of a different amp and it's the same result. I have tried hooking everything up with the other amps I have and they all work together....so cables a such are good. Just doesn't work with the 5150.
The effects loop on the amp itself works. Loop in the effects, they are coming thru the amp....
Any help would be great.

Ok, so figured it out. Turns out the post gain also controls the effects send. I had the post gain on the 5150 turned down to be able to hear if the other amp had sound coming thru....(read on an other forum that that knob controlled both levels.)
Tried with the post gain turned up and now it works.
