Hello!
My name is Jimmy. I am trying to get some clarification on the head I have.
It's a 6505. Manufactured in 1/2016.
The box says it has 6-12AX7 preamp tubes but the config for these should only be 5.
Can anyone help me understand this?
Thank you in advance!

Re: 6505 Head Config clarification
Welcome to the forum.
Maybe it ended up in a 6505+ box by accident? Or someone badged a 6505+ head as a 6505 by accident and it still made it in the correct box?
However you are correct on actual tube counts and here is a link where Roger Crimm describes their function.

The 6505 has five 12AX7 tubes. The 6505+ has six. Are you sure your 6505 is not a 6505-PLUS model?

Hello! Thanks for the replies!
The head and box are branded 6505. There is no other badging to indicate any other version. See pics below.

Aha, the BOX says six tubes. SO pull the cover off the small tube area, how many are there?
Re: 6505 Head Config clarification
I contacted Peavey and they said it was a box misprint. I’m still gonna count the preamps tomorrow! I’ll let you all know.

There is a "Demo" sticker on that box in your picture. That opens up some room for several different scenarios.
