Original 5150 Channel-Switching Issue

Post by PrimitiveFuture » Wed Apr 28, 2021 3:34 pm

It's never had any other problems, and I'm using a Voodoo Man channel switcher. So when I go to switch from the clean to dirty channel, there's the slightest bit of hesitation in the switch. Not enough of a delay to be crazy noticeable, but enough that it makes it sound weird when I'm switching in the middle of a song. And ideas? Is it the pedal or the amp?

When the amp changes channels, some relays shift their positions. This causes very brief changes that can result in unwanted noises. SO the amp includes a small circuit to mute the amp for JUST a moment as this all happens, preventing the potential noise from coming through.
