I'm surprised no one mentioned a Vypyer yet. Too unreliable?

Anyway, with all due respect to the XXL, I'm going with the red stripe Revolution 112. So, in effect I'm agreeing with all the red stripe Bandit votes here, I'm just adding a third channel for extra versatility!

i do like my first series vypyr, i have a 15w vypyr and a vip 1 I prefer the amp tones in the vypyr to the vip 1. but the best solid state peavey I ever played was the backstage chorus 208. Amazing clean tone, beautiful spring reverb. I sold it to a good friend who instantly fell in love with the tone(so close to a fender twin sound) ive since picked up a backstage 50 which also sounds beautiful, but not as nice as the 208 (which means 2 8" speakers). The backstage line are diamonds in the rough.

I love my red stripe Bandit 112. Most overlooked metal combo ever. It's Chinese made, but that makes little different. Great metal tones and very versatile. I run an Ibanez mini Tube Screamer in front and have no problem getting a great tone.
I'll be replacing it with a 6505 MH soon. I'll run that though a 2x12 cab with V30s. But I'll always keep my Bandit. :D

Special 130. If that's too loud back off to the Bandit 65. Both simple, dependable and sound good.
The more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know.

I have to go with the Transformer 112. Really flexible, dials in beautifully for almost anything you need. I have a tweaked eeprom with some extra goodies that makes it even better.

THIS.

It's -- essentially -- a red stripe USA Bandit, but with 16 totally customizable tone patches that can be called up at the stomp of the sturdy MIDI footswitch, and Peavey offered (still available from the website) Windows-based editing software that allows you to make and store as many more presets as you like, any of which can be downloaded into any 1 of the amp's 16 memory slots. Peavey (i.e., Mesa), Fender, Marshall, and Vox style tones are all in there with the V2 EPROM chip.

A genius product, poorly marketed, sadly overlooked, and thus long discontinued.

you'd love the Vypyr Pro then, which sounds like the evolution of the Transformer. the analog amp models are fantastic, and you can combine up to 4 at once.

Recently got my hands on a Redstripe Special 212! This amp is very overlooked for some reason. It’s basically a bandit with an extra drive channel and extra speaker. A great platform for my pedals too! This amp doesn’t get a lot of notoriety in the 212 amp world, but it’ll definitely hold its own! Currently a Texas Heat and Scorpion in mine! KILLER TONE BRUH!!!

I'll vote for my only SS Peavey amp, the Studio Pro 40, although I'm in the process of fixing it as it's unstable. It's from the same era as my hybrid SS/Tube Classic VTX 212 and shares the same controls and features, just less of them. If the Studio Pro 40 sounds anywhere similar to the Classic VTX then I'm in for a treat.

EDIT: Problem solved, nothing wrong with it except my stupidity of connecting the Reverb chassis plug backwards causing issues. The amp is fantastic, loud, articulate, and plenty clean for my pedalboard to shine. Love it.

I would say head wise I love my Transtube Supreme and my combo vote goes to the red stripe USA made Bandit. I did a hair metal gig with my red stripe Bandit plugged into a 412 cab with Celestions. This, with a few pedals, nailed every tone I needed that night.

Peavey Pacer 100-SS is one of the best amps if not the best for dirt box distortion. I have been using these for decades . I run them clean with a closed back modification (board with insulation screwed in the back with speaker jack) EVM 12 Proline speaker vastly improves the sound. Master on 10 ,EQ'S on 10, no reverb ,input volume low . I currently use a cheap Zoom 606 pedal and a Wah in front of the Pacer. I use this setup and a Ultra 60 112 with no effects at the same time . Mic both amps . Giant sound. The Pacer acts as a SS power amp, full range sound
