Classic 50 212 info/serial

Post by sixstringfun » Tue Sep 28, 2021 2:24 pm

Hey all. First post. I'm sure this has been discussed in great length and there are numerous posts but I'm looking to get info from my serial # on my Classic 50 212. I have seen older posts but I thin the serial #'s I've seen top out at 07-XXXXXX. Mine starts with 09-13XXXX. Is there a formula to figure the date is was manufactured? Thanks in advance,
Rich

Personally, condition matters way more than age. But if a customer wants to know an age on something, I look at the date codes on the parts it is made with. Pots generally have them. Transformers, speakers, caps, other large parts.

I never thought to look at the parts piece of it. Probably because I'm not a tech guy at all. But with the open back cab maybe I can see something on the back of the speaker.
