Hey, how is everyone doing?

Post by Bassguitarist1985 » Sat Jun 19, 2021 1:08 pm

Hello to all the Peavey forumites!

Looks like its been quiet around here for awhile. I've been popping in to read threads occasionally. How is everyone? Roger? Semper? Josjor? Marty? Jim H?

I myself haven't done much at all music wise. I tried selling my entire PA system before COVID as I was not planing to gig out anymore that that level, but noone would give me a fair cost for it, more like dirt. Soo, I've kept it all...and bought more basses, with the wifes approval thankfully! I'm about to throw down on a MiniMega head this week simply cuz its 9lbs vs my 52lb MAX 700! Can't wait to check it out!

The other hobbies took over in-between work. Wife and I finished our bar/arcade/movie theater/nano brewery and diner (wifes idea) in the basement. Pictures and info can be had here.

Anyways, hope everyone is well!

Last year was hardly any gigs for me, but things are picking up now. I try to keep check on the forum once a day on weekdays.

Thats good to hear! Yeah one gig coming up the end of July for me, house party. Will be glad to get back into the music scene a bit.

To say things are quiet here would be an understatement. My last event was Feb. 8, 2020. Hopefully there will be some indoor entertainment opportunities by the end of September.

I agree! I also have not seen much activity with products either. I'm sure this is the worst time to release new products until after the pandemic subsides. Hopefully we will drum up some activity soon. Forums are a powerful tool to retain brand awareness and loyalty imo.

Not many would know who I am...(50L6D) or really care, & that's cool. Even so, I've been on & off the forum since day 1, under several logins. PVHOLIC was an old friend back in the day. Hi ya, Charlie. I miss the old days when Peavey was on fire & forum talk was happening. It's pretty much a thing of the past now. Social media is hip; forums are so "90s", right? They can sure be a great repository for knowledge, pictures & exchanging ideas.

January 2022 doesn't look too promising for lots of manufacturers, while some are doing o.k. Peavey will soon release a "blackface" Classic 20 MH?
Wish they'd change that covering, too; & give us a re-release of the Valveking 20 watt. Well, I can dream...

NAMM will take place in the summer & that's it; only 1 NAMM this year. Well...it'll give us gear heads something to talk about for a couple of weeks.

Is Roger Crimm poking around here at any time?

Forums are comparatively inefficient to use since you have rules and logins and things for every single one of them. So it's rare to stick with more than a handful. I could keep up with a whole lot of discussions while Usenet was a thing. I don't do "social media" since I have enough time sinks as it is...

What I like about Peavey (and this forum) is that getting at circuit diagrams is comparatively easy and that makes gear so much more powerful for me. At least with gear that is old enough to be made mostly of generally available parts I can wrap my head around.
