Of the RAM in a dpm v3? Thanks,

In my unit, the two 28 pin RAM I.C.s were CXK5625TP-12L. My unit powered up with a "RAM failure" message, and wouldn't do anything else. Pulling one of these chips let my unit power up normally. Compared to more modern sound modules, this unit's value is negligible, at least to me.

Often times, when a RAM develops errors, it may simply be from dust accumulation around the contact pins. Remove RAM sticks, dust off everything with a can of air "office duster" then put the memory back in (making sure they are fully seated in the sockets). If you sill get errors after that, then the RAM itself might indeed have gone bad.

If someone thinks they corrected a problem by blowing off a component with air, what is much more likely is that the friction of unseating and reseating the chip into its socket helped restore a good connection. Blowing off something like this with air is nonsense.
