Classic 50s discontinued?

Post by Lester H » Sat Sep 12, 2020 12:11 pm

I've been searching sites like Guitar Center/Musicians Friend, Sweet Water etc and the wording in the availability section of these sites lead me to believe the Classic 50 series is discontinued. Is this correct?

I emailed Peavey. They said due to Covid they're having delays from the supplier but expect shipment before the end of the year. Fingers crossed anyway....

I am also a fan of Carvin amps and this was starting to feel like that did when they ceased amp production in 2017. Their website would say "more coming soon" etc but more never came....

Back in the summer Guitar Center/Musicians Friend had the 212s marked down on sale by what I considered a fairly large price reduction feeling like they were closing them out. Now Guitar Center's website acts like they've never had them before and Sweetwater left the product description as "for reference only"

"for reference only"
It means we don't have them to sell you, but here is what they were in case that helps. I often get questions like "My XYZ5000 has a broken jack..." And having no idea what an XYZ5000 was, I look it up online and find a no longer available but here is a reference photo, which I find useful.
