Re: Peavey Deuce with a short in the preamp
I remember when Enzo was with us he mentioned that the 2 ufd caps were always a problem. This schematics shows a number of them in the preamp, labeled 2/35, being 2uf at 35 Vdc. A lot of the nicer Fluke handheld DVM’s have a capacitance measure function. So you can check cap value (ufd’s), but you h...

Re: Studio Pro 60, Reverb not working
In Enzo’s first post to your issue. He mentioned three resistance measurements, your response was that you verified the reverb tank input and output coils, two measurements. The third, being to verify R33 back thru the input cable and the molex connector, as Enzo mentioned is 22k. There was another ...

Re: New to me Valveking VK100 Head
According to this speaker expert (and he really is an expert), a 16 ohm version and a 4 ohm version of the same speaker do sound differnt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAUpWQWlTe0 Start utube video at 9:00 minutes Overall you just have to configure your setup, and then set to VK impedance switch ...

Re: ValveKing II 50 Combo - Noise Issues
studiodk5, hey thanks for the pictures. That pc board looks great. Beautifully laid out, nice green solder mask, lots of real estate, large ground planes, wide straight etched traces connecting different areas of the circuit. All the components look like their marked with their schematic component i...

Re: Silver Stripe Bandit Excessive White Noise
Check that cap C37 (2.2ufd) in the emitter circuit of Q17, that could be effecting the current.
I believe Enzo mentioned they might be high failure rate items.

Re: Resurrecting the Wall of Rage
As I understand it your 2x2 amp set up would be 4 Peavey Rage amplifiers. I had to look up a Peavey Rage. There was the Rage, the 158 and the 258. Theres some guy on uTube that had a wall of Rage with 6 Rages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPGgIDIQzpk There seems to be a bunch of advice on the int...

Re: Peavey VYPYR 2 instrument channels presets
Lets say the problem is that button B broke, it lost its click. The schematic says it switch S17. Peavey part: 31322542 Description: vertical tact switch 6x6mm Contact Peavey and see if you can buy the part. That will determine if you can try the repair yourself. http://zorkmids.com/Download/Vypyr_V...

Re: Valveking 212 has no sound when fx loop on
I tried to lookup info about your effects loop mod, ultimate-guitar mods but I couldn't find anything. So I don't really understand what your doing. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thats good, you plugged your guitar into the "return" input and got sound. That means the problem is in the "send" signal. And ...

I don't care for that shops response. Perhaps Peavey can give you a reasonable repair.

Re: Valveking 212 has no sound when fx loop on
C139 should not be loose. Both legs of the component should be soldered in its place in the PC bd. When you put a signal into the Return jack, the voltage is developed across R176 (3.9M ohms) and then the signal goes thru C139 and on to the Power Amp, connector P301/311 pin2. So Yes, R176 and C139 a...

Re: Valveking 212 has no sound when fx loop on
The normal internal signal (labeled sig) goes thru R166 and out through C139. The FX loop is not enabled until there is something plugged into the Return jack breaking the connection at J115. Q102 is only used to send a signal out the Send jack.

Re: Valve king II 20 combo clean channel distorted
Look at the schematic. I think the stacked Mosfets are used as switches. Use some circuit analyses, maybe with the help of a voltmeter to determine which switch is off or on by measuring the gate voltage. Once you figure how the circuit works, you'll be able to fix your problem.

Re: Help with Peavey Vypyr VIP-2 - Power supply issue (?)
Does a factory reset help? See additional info under the vypyr forum. Could be a pwr supply issue or something else. I'd work with Peavey customer support. I'd like to think there are procedures for product support. You've had the amp for a year and a half. The warranty is good for two years. Its un...
