Re: classic 20 channel 2 not working right

Welcome to the forum.

Do the TSI lights stay green, indicating no concerning issues with the power tubes?

After Channel 2 fails, does Channel 1 still operate normally?

I am not sure if I have a schematic for the Classic 20MH. Let me check and I may have a suggestion(s).

Re: Delta Blues 2-10" problem

It could be a microphonic tube. They do not all sound the same. You could try the chopstick/pencil eraser test, but they are not always 100%. Usually when a control is linked to the issue, it will be a tube in front of, or in, that control circuit. The DB is like a C30, so the tone stack should be a...

Welcome to the forum.

I have never seen anything like it. Have you tried posting it on The Gear Page website? There are some people on there who have seen everything, unless it is a one-off.

Re: Vypyr 60 with 16 ohm external 4x12 cab

I disconnected my Vypyrs main speaker and connected my 4x12 16ohm cab with the ext out and blew the 120v fuse within a few hours. I read that powering the amp on without the main speaker being connected is a bad idea. ( I read this AFTER I blew the fuse  ) I've replaced the 120v fuse and ever...

Re: problem with reverb STUDIO PRO 110

Welome to the forum. I traded in my first amplifier, a Peavey Special 130, but I still have my first guitar. Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for you, I have never really had any reverb issues other than dirty RCA jacks. Those were cured by unplugging the RCA jacks, spraying some Deoxit on them...

Re: Vypyr 60 with 16 ohm external 4x12 cab

Welcome to the forum. The reason it is recommended to not disconnect the internal speaker is due to the way Peavey handles adding the external cabinet. The output transformer has 2 taps, a 16 ohm tap and an 8 ohm tap. The internal 16 ohm speaker is normally connected to the 16 ohm tap. The external ...

Re: Classic MH20 vs Transtube Bandit

The Bandit is a great amp. It has been around in some form since 1980. https://forums.peavey.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=14177 It also does a very convincing tube amp emulation, should you ever need it. If you have not already, scroll down and check out the Product Description. The TransTube White Pape...

Re: peavey pattiot plus question

It is not uncommon to use Maple for transparent and figured finishes. The same guitars will use Ash for solid/opaque finishes.

But I am not a Peavey guitar guru, so we will wait for one to chime in.

Re: Classic MH20 vs Transtube Bandit

One other thing I like to point out in these situations. Owning a solid state amps is like owning a clock-radio. Owning a tube amp is like owning a car. Consider their respective maintenance schedules. I will also add that I bought my Peavey JSX 212, all tube/valve, from the leader of a church's Con...

Re: Classic MH20 vs Transtube Bandit

No, the Classic 20 MH does not. It is rated for 20 Watts. Being a tube amp you can get a little more out of it, but I would consider it out of clean headroom as the THD will increase. The TransTube Bandit is rated for 80 Watts into the internal speaker. That is where the THD reaches the same level, ...

Re: Looking for replacement XXX Crossover

Does anyone have any leads on where to purchase a new crossover for a XXX cab? I think it only switches the cab between mono and stereo, at least that is all mine do. Well, there is an implicit impedance change with that. You could call Peavey parts to get whatever they are stocking today. Call the...

Peavey Wolfgang Special Goldtop I inherited an original Peavey Wolfgang from a friend in parts. It is well played. I want to put it all back together. There are some parts I am missing from the Floyd but I am focused on wiring it up again. There are no schematics I can find and the wiring doesn’t m...
