Re: What IF....[ Chapter 8 ] Cincy's Repository
:-) Thanks for the update JamesPaul. I noticed that it had been a while since Cincy posted. Yes, I was getting a bit nervous myself, VSW. I am just glad Cincy is keeping busy, as opposed to anything else that could be going wrong. He is a solid resource, and we will miss him while he is catching up...

Re: What IF....[ Chapter 8 ] Cincy's Repository
I have received a transmission from Cincy. He has been extremely busy, and it is looking that way for the foreseeable future. I am following up with him today. Forum activity does seem to be a little lower, and most of us aren't getting any younger. I am confident everyone will check up on the Forum...

Re: How Can I Know If Peavey Guitar is Real and no fake?
I own only one Peavey guitar, so I am not an authority. To me, that looks like an authentic Peavey Rotor Special. There may be a serial number, or date codes, in the neck pocket, or in that obscured area on the neck itself. Those who counterfeit guitars usually pick a guitar where many were produced...

Re: vypyr -vip 1
The VIP 3 Factory Reset is in the Owner's Manual. For the VIP 1/VIP 2, you need the Owner's Manual Extras. If you cannot download it from Peavey, I can attach it to this Topic, or if too large I can email it. 5. Power-Up Button Combinations Pressing and holding certain combinations of front panel bu...

Re: Vyper X2 to external speaker cabinet?
You can install an external speaker jack in your amp. Someone did this for a first generation Vypyr and posted it, so you may be able to search and find instructions in this forum. If not, here is a YouTube video which shows how to do it. https://youtu.be/Cv9oJaNdWBA Use an external cabinet which is...

Re: Bag for Sanpera II in 2022? :)
First time out (Vypyr 2008), an official bag was not offered. I looked at a few padded keyboard bags, which fit relatively well. What I finally decided on has been out of production for years. Best of luck finding something that fits.

Re: Speaker with more headroom for a 1990s Classic 20 combo amp
Welcome to the forum. I think everyone on this thread will agree, a more efficient speaker will increase volume. It is likely a question of how much volume, and would it be noticable? I think the discussion in this thread was how do I get more clean headroom? That needs to be addressed within the am...

Re: vypyr -vip 1
Welcome to the forum! It defninitely needs to be the Vypyr VIP firmware, as the Vypyr, VIP, and Pro firmware are all incompatible with a different generation amplifier. So you are trying the update procedure again, but cannot establish communication with the VIP 1? If this is true, you could try the...

Re: Amp advices
Welcome to the forum. I happen to own both of these amplifiers. I have not tried an electric guitar through my ELF, only an electric bass. I assumed if using an electric guitar, some of the higher frequencies might possibly be attenuated/eliminated within the ELF circuit. Given your results with you...

Re: Start problem with Peavey vyper 75 w
There are not a lot of serviceable parts, they were mostly designed with board swaps for repairs. A power supply board repair is probably a place components could be changed. There and I know people have changed encoders.

Re: no more gain boost on vk micro 20. Need help!!
Unfortunately, the MOSFETs involved in the switching circuits, do seem to be a common issue with the MHs and the VK II combos. Most shops do not want to deal with repairing them, either. At least those are the posts I have seen on forums. I like my VK II MH and 112 cabinet! I will remember this Topi...

Re: Start problem with Peavey vyper 75 w
The original, first generation, Vypyrs would sometimes experience start issues. You can check that the firmware is current, which may help. Otherwise it was just to keep powering on/off. Some Deoxit on the Power Switch may also help. The encoders, controls, will get dirty over time. You can try taki...

Re: Need Help Identifying Cabinet
Cosmetically, it looks like an HP 412 cabinet. Probably was just a sticker on it. It should be 16 ohms, 200 Watts continuous power handling, unless speakers, or configuration, have been changed. That is Hartley Peavey's signature on the metal badge. Not as expensive as a 6505, but once broken in the...

Re: No more Classic 30 made in Usa in stock?
They are no longer produced in the USA. I have owned both, and found no difference. Today I own a non-USA model so it cosmetically matches my Peaveys. No difference in tone.

Amp Sell Off
I'm going to downsize, so most of my amps will be sold off. I'll hold on to my Decade, C30, VIP 3, one C20, JSX MC and my JSX 212. Not shown in my signature link are my backup Triple XXX head and an unboxed but new 6505 Powered Subwoofer. I may have missed something else, but I haven't had time to d...
