Re: PR 12 Neo vs. PV 12M as a Stage Monitor

The 1500 will do the trick, provided you're not trying to overcome any full guitar stacks and bites-heads-off-bats music. The 2600 is a closer match, rms to rms rating, provided you're using 1 channel per monitor.

Re: PR 12 Neo vs. PV 12M as a Stage Monitor

All the following is IMHO :D The PV12M is a better monitor for a few reasons. It handles more power, it has more of a "pro-audio" response (versus the PR series more "hi-fi" response) and the horn is better. The PV series also takes up less room on stage. The PR's are a good cab for the money, but t...

Re: Peavey PR15 question

I would concur. A single acoustic and mic? What is there for the sub to reproduce? Unless you're doing some stuff with tracks you will just be disposing of extra cash and working your back a little more hauling it around.

Re: Peavey PR15 question

Don's got a good point, if you want a higher end molded cab. I use the 1015's with an XR8600 as my small rig. They sound great and are built really well. Drawbacks of Impulse vs. PR: Heavier, more expensive, more "pro-audio" sound. That last one is a pro and a con. You can eq the Impulses for more b...

Re: Peavey PR15 question

I'm not privvy to the sales figures, but I would be willing to bet that these are one of Peavey's top selling cabinets. Lightweight, sound good, inexpensive. What's not to like? Sure, you aren't going to mic a 5 piece rock band and play a bar of 500 people with it, but for the application you mentio...

Re: Peavey PR15 question

I think it'd be just great for that use. They have kind of a "hi-fi" response....a little heavier on the bass side. But overall, a good sounding speaker for not much scratch. For the money you're paying..........no brainer, IMHO.

Re: PV 1600 Bi-Amp confusion

It's pretty easy to make your own.....4 conductor cable and Speakon brand name NL4s are not too expensive by themselves, 'Tis the assembly and "handling" what makes them expensive. Cheers, Steve I like that idea even better! I'm pretty decent with a soldering stick... No solder necessary: screw com...

Re: Which Mixer to Buy?

What Edwards said.

I promise you that when my Mom bought me a sax at age 12 that she had no idea she was also buying me my career. 30 years later I still have the sax and own a music store.

Re: FX Mixers

I use the 32FX as my main rig for everything from recording to live gigs. It's a really good mixer for the money. Having been in the biz for about 20 years I am continually amazed at the quality and features for the price. As you've already stated, there are many, many posts about recording and mems...

Re: mixing live amatuer rock bands

Lots of great stuff here and not a whole lot I would change or add. Just a couple goodies: Call me lazy, but I have a Feedback Ferret on each of my monitor mixes. I set the eq manually (yes, I also have a 31 band on each mix) but let the FF handle any "accidents" that may happen later. When you're r...

Re: Recording with Peavey Mixers

OK. Here's my tip of the day: I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I'm cheap. Most commercial software is pretty expensive and a lot of it is pretty confusing as well. So here is a good, free software program that is incredibly easy to use and gives a pretty danged good recording ability wit...
