First gen are silver, second gen are black.
The good news is it's a quick fix at the factory and the ones I've had with this issue that Peavey fixed, don't seem to do it again.

Re: Escort 3000
The short answer is "no". The Escort system is only designed for two speakers. The long answer is that you can, if you add either powered speakers or an external power amp. I can't tell from Peavey's documentation, but it appears that the current model doesn't have a line out. Older models had eithe...

Re: DM or PVXP
Between the DM and the regular PVXP, I'd probably go with the DM. The DSP in the DM is pretty danged nice. But if you throw the PVXP-DSP into the mix, I'd probably go with the PVXP. It has the DSP in it and, IMHO, the cabinet is just a little more heavy duty plus it has the slight downward angle to ...

Re: Procomm PCX U7 Mic
If it is the model I'm thinking of, two things: 1.The actual portion of the mic that contains the diaphragm is a quick connector at the base of the head of the mic. Unscrew the windscreen and you'll see the silver-screen covered head. It will simply pull out of it's socket. Check the electrical cont...

Re: CM2 capsule size
Little coloration as possible? So, cold hearted and referent, adding nothing? You say it like it's a bad thing. To me, it's an excellent thing for what it's designed for. Let's take use as an instrument mic as an example. The musician spends hundreds and perhaps thousands of dollars on their ...

Re: CM2 capsule size
I haven't taken time to actually measure the capsules (or look at the spec sheets, for that matter), but they are different mics from each other. I have some of the CM1's and they're really nice, but I don't use them much. I find them to be perfect for a breathy jazz singer or someone who is a littl...

Re: Peavey IPR2-7500 Noise?
OK, so acoustically from the amplifier itself.
I'd pull the top off the amp (it's just 6-10 screws) and take a look to see if anything is loose like a heat shield or something.

Re: Peavey IPR2-7500 Noise?
Is the noise acoustically from the amp or is it through the speakers? If it's through the speakers, step one is to disconnect the input source and see if the noise is still there. If the noise is still there with the input disconnected, then you probably have a problem with the amp. If the noise dis...

Re: Generator Needed?
Not 1kHz, think DJ and 100Hz and below thumping all night. But I agree, you won't amplify a steady sine wave, but those peaks several times a second still make demands. I was referring to how the rating on the current draw of the amplifiers is derived. Thats a UL rating and it's how they do it. It'...

Re: Generator Needed?
You'll probably be fine. Yes, the CS800's each draw 10 amps, but thats at max power with a 1k sine wave pumping through them at the minimum ohm load. You aren't going to be doing that. I hope. I have personally run a system that included 2 CS4000, one GPS1500, and two PV3800 off that same gene...

Run and run fast. The guy trying to sell this rig to you doesn't have a clue. By posting your question here, you have already proven that you know more than he does. Where should you run? I suggest you run to the phone and reach out to some neighboring schools and see who they had do their sound sys...

Re: 112pt pa - bad drivers - upgrade options?
I hope by "gigging" you mean maybe 50 people and background music. Those piezo's don't handle much power and they aren't all that strong. Yes, you could spend a couple hundred bucks and a few hours on each cabinet, installing newer, stronger drivers. But you could also spend about the same am...

Re: Class D (IPR2 Series) Amplifiers with High Impendance Loads
I have one that we installed that is running a 16 ohm load. It was an original series IPR and there haven't been any problems. But......... Go to in-ears and let everyone do their own mix. (Please tell me that when you paid money for a new mixer, you got a digital with remote capabilities. If not, w...

Re: Mount an Elements 115C with VM70?
The pricing on the pole mounts is ridiculous. Not knowing your situation I can't make specific recommendations, but I've mounted them on poles using very simple brackets that I made myself using $20 in materials and an hour or so in my shop with the welder.
