Re: Let's Share Some Vypyr Settings

What sort of guitar u have?
I'd start with the Marshall plexi model, gain on 5 and add in one of the fuzz pedals (not the tubescreamer) to give a big loose distorted sound, should be able to dial in well enough with the eq, its not a complex tone.

Re: Vypyr Updater for Mac OSX ?

Do you use Bootcamp to boot into windows? You still need a windows install but it's worth buying a copy of XP on ebay its pretty cheap now, then you can double the functionality of your mac!

[quote="Eddie HaskellTry just hanging a cd from the grill cloth and see what ya think. Ya know S.R.V. Re: Improved Tone From Your Vypyr

Interesting and accessible idea - I like it. Wondered if you've tried it in a live gig if you use the Vypyr to gig, does it still cut through the mix with the highs bouncing back off the grille cloth?

Re: Updates and volume pedal

Nice one - I hope Peavey make good use of all this feedback in their design team, to continue improving these areas for future releases.

Re: Updates and volume pedal

Sorry to go all geeky, Not sure if the thermal expansion of aluminium is enough to have any effect here, it expands by 13 micro inches per degree F, that's not very much! maybe a hairs breadth for a 20 degree temperature change.

Re: Let's Share Some Vypyr Settings

Try the Fender twin or deluxe models on green, neutral eq, a bit of reverb and slap back echo. play with a strat, preferably a red one.

Re: weird noise when using sanpera

Not necessarily - if the problem is the midi interface on the amp then it would only give the bad noise when the pedal was plugged in, even if there was nothing wrong with the pedal...in that case getting a replacement pedal will do no good. If it's something in the pedal then replacing the amp will...

Re: weird noise when using sanpera

First thing to do is try exchange it for another one where u bought it - this should tell you if it is a faulty pedal or faulty interface in the amp. Then you can decide if you need the amp fixed or not.

Re: KT66's in the Vypyr Tube 60

well yes i would agree, the 12ax7 tubes are preamp tubes and thats where the majority of the tone characteristics are generated, including the overdrive characteristics. The power tubes further amplify this but typically would add less influence than the preamp section.

Re: Let's Share Some Vypyr Settings

HAMMOND ORGAN SOUND Did a quick search but did not find this setting here, which is surprising as it features strongly on YouTube! To get the hammond Organ-type sound i use the TWN green amp, gain on 3/4's. Use the MOG stomp with fx both on about 1/2 way (12 O'clock), then use the rotary speaker set...

Re: Let's Share Some Vypyr Settings

I guess you need to use the AC30 red channel (Brit model) to get the Brian May vibe, play with the echo and give it a lot of mid on the eq.

Re: Sanpera II Looper-Replay Volume

thats a really useful find, Twangler - gonna try this now with the S1 pedal, if this is the problem then lets hope it can be improved with the next firmware updtae, whenever that is planned. [edit] S1 pedal works the same way - it's the equivalent sound of post-gain on max that determines the loop v...
