Oh, duh! Sorry, I just had a facepalm moment with that.
Thanks Marty!

Re: Impulse 1015 biamp EQ
By old/new I'm guessing you mean the original MX (without mute buttons) or the MX16/32/Live series (with mute buttons) - It's an MX32. If there are more revisions than that I'd have to check. I can give that a shot next time I'm in there, there's a lot going on right now so it'll be a bit. (So, for ...

Re: Impulse 1015 biamp EQ
Thanks Marty, I've given that a shot and the system sounds pretty good already, there's still some tweaking I need to do with room equalization though. (I have some time, the venue won't be used for another few weeks.) I'm a little tripped up on the limiter setting at the moment, mostly because the ...

Impulse 1015 biamp EQ
I feel like I've asked a similar question a few years back (in fact I know I did  , it came up in a search), but never really got a clear answer. I'm in search of an answer again so I figured I'd see if anyone has come across an answer lately - Anyhoo - I have the crossover information from the...

We need a "Like" button for this ^
Understanding functions and controls and what they do is 100 times better than just reading a step-by-step on how to do one thing.

Re: VSX 26 headaches
The VSX26 is a legacy product at this point, and most people that already have them already know how to use them, so it doesn't surprise me that tech support doesn't always know everything about it off the top of their head. Unfortunately it was a great idea ahead of its time but with poor implement...

Re: Speakon vs 1/4" connections
Because why bother. It would still have been an incompatible connector and therefore not actually been a 1/4" connection anyway. Twistlocks in any form are by far a superior connection method for speakers, IMO. Even as far back as the 70's and 80's (and maybe earlier? I'm a young gun so I only know ...

Re: Speakon vs 1/4" connections
Sorry I know I'm a bit late to the conversation... Considering 1/4" connections ("Phone connectors") were originally designed for telephone switchboards (late 1800s) with only minor changes in shape since then (notably the change of the tip from a purely round end to the more pointed end we're famil...

Re: Help me decide on speakers for this space
Flying them between 30 and 40 feet in the air, how would that affect the sound and coverage? To be honest I've never used subs that weren't on the ground.

Re: Help me decide on speakers for this space
Just so you don't think I haven't done some homework on this, here are the EASE simulations for two different configurations at two different hang points. While the 4-box (x2, so 8 total) would fit the budget better, especially since I do not know what I am doing about subs and amps yet (dependent o...

Help me decide on speakers for this space
I get the feeling the old "Sound Systems" forum was removed to prevent people like me from asking these questions  This is a long one, I apologize in advance. We have an opportunity to redesign one of our theater systems. Budget is approx $30000. Some of you may remember this building from a co...

Re: XR 800F set up question - help required please.
That's a dirty word around here ;) I was going to ask why not a Ferret instead, but if it is based on prices I can understand that.. I've never used the B version, so I'll reserve judgement for someone who might have, but I've never been a fan of their products in general (and in fact my jury is sti...

Re: XR 800F set up question - help required please.
A 15-band is not nearly narrow enough to notch out feedback without coloring the sound. A 31-band starts to get there, but even those are usually still too wide for most cases. That said, and this isn't meant to downplay the sound quality of karaoke gigs, most people there probably wouldn't notice t...

Re: XR 800F set up question - help required please.
Theoretically yes it would work, and "inserting" is one of the reasons those jacks are there. (Others include using an active crossover to split out for subs and then going back to the internal amp for one of the frequencies, or just adding booster amplifiers, going to another mixer, using the inter...
