I cannot find a version G.
The only two fuses on the board feed the low voltage supplies through the regulators.
If they are blown, has it been connected to 240volts whilst set at 110v, I wonder.

Re: I need help repairing an XR600G
Never parts canon any repair, you will cause issues and man made faults.
Which fuses had blown ... that will help us to determine where the initial fault is.
If the output transistors had failed, find the cause and fix it before powering it on.

Re: Vintage Peavey 115 Xover rebuild
I would replace the jack sockets with Speakon sockets.
Pins 1+ and 1- Bass or full range with 2+ and 2- Treble only.
Far more reliable and up to date.

Re: TDA2050 replacement
If it is for the practice style amplifiers, use an LM1875. There is a simple power mod; use a complimentary pair, Tip41/42 etc, as slave output drivers. https://xtronic.org/circuit/amplifier/tda2030-transistors-bd908bd907-18w-hi-fi-audio-amplifier-and-35w-driver/ Xtronic think they can copyright it ...

Re: PV2600 / Crest CPX2600
You have picked an interesting design to cut your teeth on! If the switching FETs are damaged, more than likely the channel was driven into a short circuit for a long time or catactrophic failure caused it (bias pot open circuit wiper, over current etc). If you consider that for a semiconductor to f...

Re: Peavey Escort 3000 Aux Out?
I would use DI boxes;
Aux out (RCA) to DI box and XLR lead to the stage box or PA.
A DI box will convert the RCA unbalanced signal to isolated balanced. That avoids earth loops and hum plus low impedance balanced line ensures low losses in the cabling.

Which Choke, L1? SChematic?
They should read short between the wires on a dvm, unless a Fluke with inductance testing.

Re: 6505+ burning fuses/resistors/ octal sockets. Help!
Replace the socket. Pin 3 is possibly sparking to pin 2 causing the heater fuses to blow and other damage. If the diode was faulty, it would take out the HT fuse traight away, nothing more sinnister. All because the output valves failed more than once or the amplifier was used with no speaker load c...

Re: Kick Drum - PVM 520i
" Curious as to which Peavey Bass Drum mic you are referencing. I only know of series of mics Peavey marketed as a drum kit that includes like five or so microphones. I can’t recall the model number. The price point of that kit made me think the microphones will not be great, so I never tried them."...

Never had much luck with Peavey branded kick mics and always head back to the industry standard Shure Beta52a with Beta57 on instruments.

Re: Lap Steel Settings for Vyper VIP 1???
It is always best practise to use your ears and listen as pickups have different output and peaks, string tension further complicates the sound levels. Start with a decent gain, (just before clipping) tone controls in the centre position, master volume at the level you require. That will allow you t...

Re: Peavey Escort 3000 issue
There are any electrolytic capacitors that leak over time.
It takes about an hour for a good engineer to replace them all. Not a job for the novice!

Re: XR8600 Resistor wattage???
Did you order the correct type of resistor;
MO types are physically smaller for the same power handling.
Should be 805s if you are repairing the XR8600D

Re: 2 sets of speakers
XLR is for line level output, mic input etc.
Adding speakers to the binding posts will use the internal amplifier and as they are built like a brick out house, will work into 4 Ohms without an issue.
Binding posts are for passive loud speakers, XLR is for powered speakers.

Re: 6505 +112 COMBO
Why change those diodes? CR200 & 201 are high voltage suppressor diodes and your choice of diode will fail very quickly with a 1N5402G rated at 200v PIV! 3Amp diodes are not required anywhere! The issue is heat as the diodes are mounted incorrectly on the PCB. They should be mounted with 1/2" of fre...
