Peavey Classic 50 Effects Loop Installation

Hi. I recently purchased a first year Peavey Classic 50 head without the effects loop, and I'm looking for someone in the southern Michigan area that could install a loop for me. Any recommendations ?

Thanks,

Frank

Re: cs800x running 4 8 ohm cabinets?

I was running 2 speaker cabs in each channel. To the best of my knowledge, during sound check........all speakers were working. Later in the night, it's possible that maybe one of the monitors (maybe the one used by the drummer) may have quit. It's also possible we have a bad speaker cable. I called...

Re: cs800x running 4 8 ohm cabinets?

I am running a CS800X with four 8 ohm cabinets (two 250 watt Yorkville 15's a 300 watt Carvin and a 100 watt CGM) for monitors in my band. Using 1/4" speaker cables, I'm running a cable out to each speaker cab. With all of the cabs being well within the ohm and power handling capacity of the amp (at...

Running CD player into PV-20 mixer...how to boost signal ???

Any suggestions on what I can use to boost the signal from my home rack system CD player to my PV-20 mixer ??? I have heard that the levels coming from the back of the CD player are not what the mixer needs to see.......so what do I use to boost them ??? Also........ if I wanted to hook up a simple ...

Re: Peavey SP3 ???

I should also add that these speakers are rated for 100 watts.............which doesn't sound like much. The seller says they have 15" Black Widows and updated 22XT drivers installed.

These appear to be the first model of SP3's....mid 80's, I would think.

Peavey SP3 ???

We have a pair of PR18's that we are currently using for the mains on our pa system, coupled with a pair of SP18BX subs. I ran into an older pair of SP3's.....probably 80's models with Black Widow 15's in them. They look like a 2 way speaker. They are in very good shape. Are these speakers better th...

Re: Need help with PA.....

Will it make much difference running in mono rather than stereo ??? I mean, it will still sound good, won't it ??? It doesn't really seem like it would make that much difference.

Re: Need help with PA.....

With a crossover, I should have enough power to run subs/mains through one power amp, shouldn't I ??? Then, I could use the other power amp to just power the monitors. I could use the Feedback Ferret D to run in stereo with the subs/mains, and the mono Feedback Ferret to run the monitors. Thanks, Fr...

Re: Need help with PA.....

When I bought these power amps, I thought they had built in crossovers......but now realize they don't. I just bought a Peavey crossover to use.

I do believe the Kosmos has a sub out.

Need help with PA.....

OK....... I'm a guitar player that has suddenly found myself in a position of needing to own and run my own PA system. I've never owned one and never been in charge of them in any bands I've ever been in, so consequently....... I know NOTHING about them.......which poses a problem for me now. I've p...

Re: 5150 cab vs a MS 412 cab

Personally, I think the 5150 cab is the better of the two. They are both built pretty sturdy. I personally like the speakers in the 5150 cab better. The MS cabs aren't bad, but they seem to have a bit of a scooped tone to them. They sound great by themselves, but sound a little scooped in a band mix...

Re: Awesome gigging rig !!!

Don't discount the gain channel on the Heritage. It's not going to do metal, but it's more than enough for most classic rock on it's own and with a good overdrive, it's even better. It's very hard to describe tone...... but if you're looking for a nice liquid lead tone.......the Heritage has that. I...

Awesome gigging rig !!!

Just gigged my latest rig last night and was VERY happy with my sound. I'm using a 5150 combo and a Peavey Heritage (with Celestion Seventy/80's) and the sound was awesome. I actually spent the most time on the Peavey Heritage with a Fulltone OCD pedal and the amp sounds killer for classic rock and ...

Re: OT: What do I need for a decent PA system ???

We play classic rock and newer rock. We eventually plan on micing the guitar amps and possibly the kick drum. I've never been in a band that mic'd the bass........but that doesn't mean it's not a good idea, just never done it myself. I don't think we're a terribly loud band. The Heritage and 5150 se...
