If it has the original speakers, yes.

Re: VK212 Speaker plug already has something plugged in
That is normal. The 212 combo and the head use the same chassis.

Re: Peavey valveking 212 Pleasantly surprised
The Ruby 6l6's are fine IMO. My choice for preamp tubes would be:
V1 Tung-sol
V2 Shuguang 12AX7-A
V3 Sovtek LPS

Re: Valve King stock speaker specifications (?)
I don't need to see specs to know that my VK sounded like it had a wet blanket over the amp with the stock speakers. Probably not a bad choice if you want a warmer sound, but it was definitely not what I was looking for. I will say this; they did a good job of hiding some of the VK's fizzyness.

My opinion is that anything you throw in there will sound better than the stock speakers.

If you're looking to upgrade the speakers in your cab, a lot of people have had luck with Warehouse Guitar Speakers.

Re: Vk 100 tubes
Charlie's attachment: Power Tubes I like: Only power tubes need to be biased. TAD 6L6WGC-STR, Sovtec 6L6WXT+ and for 112 only Tung-Sol KT66. RCA 6l6gc black plate KT66 is too large to fit side by side in the four tube socket spacing. Preamp tubes: Balanced triode are unnecessary for a guitar amp. V1...

Re: VK 100 head. Which speakers?
There are VK cabinets, and they have their own specially voiced speakers, and I would guess most VK users are using that. Actually, most VK users throw them right in the trash shortly after buying the amp. I have an old, US made Carvin cabinet that I play my VK through. I don't recall the speaker m...

Re: Vk 100 tubes
My current setup:
V1 tung-sol
V2 Shuguang
V3 Sovtek 12ax7-LPS
Ruby 6l6's
The cheapo chinese/shuguang tubes are surprisingly decent for hard rock and metal. Honestly, I'd buy a selection of tubes and try them out.

There are brand snobs with anything. Just read any given car forum. People like to think that what they have is the best.

Re: Peavey VTM vs Butcher
I've been looking on craigslist, guitar center, reverb, almost everywhere. The ones I do find on Craigslist are far from home and no one wants to ship. Understandable with tube amps. I play pretty aggressive music, not really looking for that Marshall tone in particular, just an amp that can rattle...

Re: NAD! Valveking 112
They're decent amps, although not great out of the box. They can be great amps with some mods. With all I've done to mine, it will hang with my Ultra as far as tone goes. Look up the Valveking Wiki if you want to get an idea of what can be done with it.

Re: valveking amps?
The VK's cleans are pretty decent. Although, if you're looking for lots of reverb, you may want to swap the tank out. The VK's reverb tank is pretty pathetic.
