Re: Peavey Vypyr VIP 3 Problems - Need Help

Yeah, that's the noise gate. Since the 6505 and 6534 are so high gain, the noise gate is more aggressive. It could be made worse perhaps if you've got electro-magnetic interference. Have you tried the orange channels of those amps or lower the gain significantly?

Re: Vypyr VIP3 Couple of questions

Strictly speaking there's only one generation of VIPs. The older ones where just called Vypyr followed by the wattage I believe. Or perhaps they consider them the second generation overall of Vypyrs. But if it says first generation or old generation, it's not for your amp. I don't know about a video...

Re: Vypyr Pro question

Right now even Vypyr VIPs are hard to come by. Sweetwater lists them discontinued. Folks elsewhere are already claiming that Peavey got out of the modelling amp business. So not sure what's going on. Stock of lots of products from China is low/non-existant. Hard to tell if this is covid/trade issue ...

Re: High gain amps.

Yes. Not a Peavey though. Not crazy about the gain channels on my Carvin V3M. So I use it for my distortion pedals instead.

Re: 6505mh grill mod

Remove the screws on the bottom and on the back. Remove the unit from the wood enclosure. Remove the screws holding that piece of wood from the rest of the box. What I did was remove the grill from the piece of wood. It's just got a bunch of staples holding it. Then I glued the two logos onto the gr...

Re: Vypyr VIP 2

I did answer the question. You'd connect it to the Aux In. That way you bypass all preamp and use the VIP basically just as a power amp.

Re: 6505 MH Tube Positions

To answer the original question: V1: a: main input gain; b:Rhythm channel / crunch V2: lead channel V3: lead channel Not sure what brand your tube are, but you can experiment with different brands. Mine came with JJ power tubes, 2 JJ pre-amp tubes and one Ruby in V2. I right away replaced all pre-am...

Yes, hook up the ME-25's headphone out to the VIP 2's Aux In.
