Not exactly on point but I have an Amp energy drink promotion guitar. It is absolutely my favorite among 5 strats I use.
Right after I got it (never used!) from craigslist, I spent an exhaustive amount of time looking for another one.
Apparently they don't make a lot of these promotional guitars.

Re: VYPYR X3 Loud enough?
I use the x2 (rated 60W) and its loud enough for my band. CAVEAT: not all drummers play at the same volume! ...

Re: Vypyr VIP 1 - high pitched noise
FWIW, and it's not much, my brand new X2 began making the 3Khz noise after only a few hours of use (maybe 3 gigs) - (my vip 2 also has the noise). I found it difficult to imagine the voltage regulator would cause the issue so I took the alternate approach of securing ground connections in the amp. N...

Re: The World's Coolest Vypyr
I must concur, the original VYPYR series remains the best modeling combo ever. Especially when paired with a Sanpera II pedal.
And the aesthetics you added look great. Too nice to take on the road!

I can't imagine it's normal but it may be typical. My VIP 2 does the same thing.

Re: Help -- Vypyr 2 works intermittently
I had a large computer screen that acted similarly - great, lousy and blank on any given day. I replaced the power supply caps and it worked fine thereafter for years. I hope you find a fix b/c I have a VIP2 that I rely on for weekly shows and I don't know what I'd do without mine!

Re: Peavey vypyr hum
All good stuff from Dak. A couple other things would be try different outlets - other electrical devices, motors especially, can put noise in the AC line, keep your cell phone a good distance from the amp. I have a 30 and 75 - hum in the high gain settings seems to be inherent.

Solo series rescue
This classic was in a dark corner of our rehearsal studio. I thought I'd take it to the shop and check it out to see how/if it worked. First up: turns out 160 watts RMS even in solid state results in HEAVY. The yellow wire and the soldered pieces was a ham handed attempt at adding an external speak...

Re: what speaker is used in the VIP series amplifiers? is this a dedicated guitar speaker?
It's a guitar speaker advertised as tuned/matched to that amp. I have a VIP II that I added a jack to switch from internal to external speaker.
Initially I connected to a Randall 2x12 (8ohms!) and it did not sound nearly as good as the original Blue Marvel.

Re: peavey vypyr pro 100 with pro sanpera pedal for sale
I cannot for the life of me find a reasonable replacement for my VYPYR 75 + Sanpera II rig. The pro 100 would be perfect. We are 6 hours away from you. Can we possibly negotiate a price and meet half way? thanks.

Re: Tube 60 and vypyr pro
I had the opportunity to play a katana mkii side by side with my VYPYR. Like you I expected the Boss to be the new standard but the sound was thin compared to the Peavey and not nearly as flexible in dialing up useful/musical effects.

Re: Need help fixing VIP 2 power amp
There is a schematic available for this amp. My free advice would be to verify the voltages before replacing the power transistor. Also, make sure you clean the heat sink surface and apply new heat sink pasted when you replace the power transistor. Good luck and let us know how it went.

MIDI control
Is it feasible to control two VYPYR amps with a single sanpera II controller? Assuming I could make a simple Y cable adapter what might I expect? I would really like to use 2 vypyr amps for gigs. I have done the external speaker mod to drive a 2x12 ported cab but would prefer two combos for more vo...

Re: Vypyr X1 reviews
I have both VYPR and VIP guitar amps. For a beginner I'd recommend a used VYPYR which can be found on facebook or craigslist for $100 or less. FWIW, I've used my VYPYR 30 and 75 for club gigs for many years now and they do the job very well. I'm sure the X series are cool but the bells and whistles...

I'd look at bent pins on the MIDI cable. I assume you're using the correct 8 pin cable.
