Re: Peavey T-60 - Fake Neck?

I don't have an explanation for the white inlays, but the lack of a black stripe around the perimeter fits what I've found on-line about replacement decals for T-60's. You can buy the "Peavey T-60" logo with "Made in U.S.A." below, but I haven't seen a source for the black stripe around the outer ed...

Replacement Peavey headstock outer border stripe

I have been going back and forth about whether to refinish a Horizon II neck, but didn't want to lose the correct, original graphics. I've found places that sell a decal for the logo and "Made in the U.S.A." writing below, but I haven't seen a source for the black border stripe decal. To me, the bla...

Re: Peavey Falcon info

If you can, I would look at Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. Every guitar store I've seen has them very overpriced. There is one on our local FB Marketplace for $320 that has been there for quite a long time.

Re: Question about 1987 Peavey Falcon pickups

I had my Falcon apart, so I figured that I would check the stock pickups in case anyone ever searches, finds this thread and wants the information. Neck 6.30 kOhms Middle 6.47 kOhms (reverse-wound) Bridge 6.58 kOhms The original Falcon pickups sound great, and I wouldn't change them out, but now I k...

Replacements for 1980s Falcon single coil pickup covers?

I'm toying with the idea of refinishing an 87 Falcon that currently has a black pickguard and black pickup covers. Ordering a white pickguard is no problem - several places sell those. I was wondering about the pickup covers, though. Are they just standard sized or are they unique to Peavey single c...

Re: Recommended book for amp theory?

Uncle Doug has a YouTube channel where he goes through tube amp theory and practice in a very clear way. He reminds me a lot of my Dad, who was an electrical engineer in the way he patiently explains things. His handwriting is even similar to my Dad's! I recommend watching his videos - I've learned ...

Re: Peavey Falcon info

I just picked up a Falcon from Guitar Center listed in Fair condition for about $200 (marked down this morning from $350). I only have pictures of this one, so I can't say any more until it arrives. A few months ago, I found a Falcon locally for $190. The Kahler tremolo had been swapped out for a ty...

Re: Quick T-15 Question

The bridge on my T-15 is also matte finish and only the bridge bar as a whole can be adjusted from the two ends (individual saddles can't be adjusted). The one on my T-27 is chrome and looks like a drop-in replacement, but it also allows the individual saddles to be adjusted. It's possible that T-15...

Re: Peavey Classic 30 amp design question

Thanks very much for the insight. I thought that there must be a good reason for the design. I may well make the modifications you suggest.

Peavey Classic 30 amp design question

I noticed that a Boss noise gate in the effect loop of my Classic 30 was almost eliminating the reverb. Looking at the schematic, the reverb input signal is taken either after the first preamp stage (clean) or after the first two preamp stages (drive) and the reverb output is added prior to the last...

Question about 1987 Peavey Falcon pickups

I recently picked up an 87 Falcon and have been loving it. The tuners have been changed and the original Kahler bridge has been replaced by a regular strat-style Wilkinson bridge, so it has definitely been modded at some point(s) in its life. My question is about the pickups. The Peavey manual says ...

Buzzing in stock Bandit 65 speaker

An FYI in case any one else runs into this problem. I had a buzzing sound on certain notes (especially the low E string) on a Bandit 65 I picked up recently. After pulling the magnet, checking the voice coil, checking for binding, etc., I figured out that the problem was the adhesive bonding the pap...

Bandit 65 footswitch

I just picked up a Bandit 65 for an awesome price ($25!). Everything works great, but the original footswitch is missing. On this amp, the only way to switch channels is by the footswitch. Also, there is no indicator light on the amp showing which channel is in use. Does anyone have a picture of the...

Re: USA Predator and Raptor

I love Predators so much that I own three. Two are completely stock (and I'll always keep them that way) and the third one came with Wilkinson locking tuners, Fender Noiseless pickups in the neck and middle positions and Duncan Cool Rails in the bridge position.I don't know who built the last one, b...
