Re: VIP 2 Sanpera II send command problem

I'm interested in the details of how you fixed this, because I'm having the exact issue you described in the original post.

Did you repair or replace the MIDI board? How did you acquire a new one, if that's what you did? Was it difficult to fix?

Re: How do I get distortion out of Vypyr VIP 1?

Each amplifier model has three settings that you access by first selecting the amp you want, then pushing the same button in. The three "channels" for each amp have their own color on the LED light used by the amp model. Green is the cleanest setting. Yellow/orange is medium overdrive. Red is highes...

And don't forget that Clapton loved rolling the tone knobs on his Gibsons way back.

I'd call Peavey support. They probably know how to fix this and can walk you through it.

Re: vip1 blues

Depends on what you mean by "the blues sound." The Classic and Budda models pull off some great bluesy tones, especially in the green (clean) channel on each. Also check out the Twin model on yellow (modeled after a Fender Twin with an Ibanez Tube Screamer in front of it) for a great crunchy blues t...

Re: Old Classic 50 Tube/Bias Question

I totally understand. I used to play a Delta Blues 115 in a band while the other guitarist used a Classic 30 - so I'm familiar with the Classic series. Proper terminology, on the other hand, is not my strong suit so I appreciate the correction. This amp is actually the first amp I ever owned. My dad...

Re: Old Classic 50 Tube/Bias Question

Upon closer inspection, it's a Peavey Classic VT Series 212 Classic, 50 watts with a 1979 serial number.

Old Classic VT Tube/Bias Question

I have an old (probably late 70s/early 80s) 50w Classic VT amplifier. The one with 4 inputs (bright, a, b, and automix) and onboard phaser. I know the tubes have gone bad. Anyone know if these older amps are fixed/cathode bias so I can just swap 'em out, or do I need to take it to a tech and have it...
