Re: CS800x - DDT light blink, almost no output

The cs800 cs800X has a DDT defeat switch and Bridge switch you might like to cycle them 50 times . There is also a PL2 engage switch when a Lo-Z input is used or canned crossover-not directly related but you might like to cycle that switch too 50 times. Could be a hanged ground connection and hi fre...

Re: Replacement Diaphram for 22A Driver?

look for 22XT genuine replacement , RX22 has different phase plug , i dont know about the 22XTn? or RX22n . Pry some more as the gasket is just stuck tight from overtightening . Genuine replacement comes with a new gasket . If you can buy a sachet of Ferrofluid then put it into the gap after cleanin...

Re: Peavey PR12 Crossover Frequency

the crossover has a ptc rxe030 in series with the compression driver coil . But no resistor-bulb accross it .
both can go -the coil and the ptc when overdriven long time.

Re: CS 800X Strange Channel Issues

could be the relays among many other possibilities , try gentle screwdriver handle knock on those , see if the output comes alive just like when the handle was smacked with a hammer.

if the pcb live parts doesnt touch the chassis ...no need to put insulators - they will jut gather dust

Re: Need Schematics peavey crossover sp2 xt circuit diagram

it could just be a 5 component crossover , easily traced . From main input to horn passes through a cap , the horn is shunted with a coil . To the woofer via a iron core coil , the woofer is shunted with a C or an RC . The direct connect jack to the woofer is just an insert . To the horn is also lik...

could be the surround or the spider . Perhaps they need break-in to settle to the correct position.

Re: Testing speaker connection with a battery.

the BW can take 500W , it aint scared of 18w even if connected all day , will the rubbing at 60Hz be any different than the rubbing at lower freqs ? It will be still the same scratchy sound other than pure sine , If I get the job done with a quick 60Hz from the outlet , i conserve energy playing a t...

the bottom speaker connects in parallel to the upper speaker via a coil - could be an iron core coil . Check the soldered connection to the pcb

Re: Testing speaker connection with a battery.

i dont have a sine generator so i used a stepdown transformer 12v2A plugged to the outlet (60Hz)to test for rubbing while tightening the 3 bolts on the BW, it can take it all day long no problem . A monentary 18v battery into the impulse to check for polarity will be no problem too. The crossover bl...

well ,make the speakers as your headphones , if you hear stronger HIGHS then thats the in-phase connection on the horn in question . there should be a dot on one terminal designating + and two dots designating - terminal . Pour all the contents of the sachet evenly into one gap . dont believe me I'm...

Re: help with Black Widow SP-2 Ti 15 inch speakers

sparingly use carburettor spray cleaner to clean the gunk , have tried many cleaning fluids from kerosene , wd40 , to gasoline - nothing works as well. But it can strip the varnish coating off the voice coil - spray on a cloth , then wipe . I hope it helps . You can put the new foam outside the scre...

[1] it could be an EI core material of the transformer that had come loose and vibrating. [2] an AC line input or output cap that has gone leaky ... could pop and will blow the fuse. [3] bridge rectifier diode that has gone halfwave thus loading the remaining half and forcing the transformer to give...
