Re: T60 Mixed Pickups Question

Excellent, thanks for the quick response. Got the serial number, 01362486, which I believe would put it at 1983. This would have come with exposed blades, not toaster covers, correct? By 83, it should have had blades. Just thought of another possible reason for a swap. Peavey used the same pickups ...

Re: T60 Mixed Pickups Question

Toaster & blade are effectively the same pickup, Toasters were just blades with a top layer of plastic. It would not have left the factory with a mix of blade/toaster. Either of two things are happening here. 1. A pickup was replaced. 2. The toaster's plastic layer cracked and the owner removed the ...

Re: Predator plus truss rod size

It's a 4mm key.

Don't use a 1/8th SAE key , it's slightly smaller so you run the risk of it slipping.

Re: Pots/caps on an 1990 Foundation bass.

But as I'm opening up the control panel I see only 250K pots everywhere. Are these the best for the bass? The Foundation has single coil pickups , accepted practice in guitar design is you pair single coils with 250k pots. It's been that way for decades. You could spend $10 to $12 on 500k pots. The...

Re: peavy bass guitar

Honestly, that depends on condition. If you look on eBay you'll see them going for upwards of $1,000 or more in good condition. Yogi. While you'll see plenty eBay listings for $1,000 upwards ; sold prices tell a very different story. In the last 3 months the highest price reached was $885 , lowest ...

Re: Peavey Cirrus 6 string made in China

They already had 6 strings coming out of China , 5 knob with VFL pickups. Your's being 4 knob with soapbars suggests Peavey was thinking of trying out a passive Cirrus. What's the tone circuit , Vol/Vol/Tone/Tone or does it have a preamp with Vol/Blend/Bass/High ? The big clear out auction a few yea...

Re: Help - Unknown USA Peavey Guitar Pickup

One reason I can think of why the ground colours differ would be the assembly folks can tell at a glance which was bridge and which was neck. Pretty important if one is wound hotter.

Might also signify rprw if there was a coil tap option.

Re: Help - Unknown USA Peavey Guitar Pickup

Thanks for the info but I'm fairly confident that Peavey was still winding their own pickups in Mississippi in the late '90 and through the 2000s. I No problem , I'm a bass player so maybe Peavey went a different route for guitar but according to Jim DeCola and Mike Powers they were importing picku...

Re: Help - Unknown USA Peavey Guitar Pickup

Hello, I recently picked up a set of humbuckers online from a seller in Meridian, MS. I was told that they are US made Peavey pickups. No idea what guitar these are from but any info/experience with these would be more than I have now.......which is none. Given the timeline "Aug 2002" and the style...

Hey all. I just picked up a 1992 Peavey Fury. Great bass, but the pickguard is in bad shape. I can’t find anything online. Can anyone assist? Thanks!
You can get one from Pickguard Planet . About $40 + shipping.

Re: No serial number

Hi. My first post here. Millennium basses with no serial number in headstock are a normal thing? Someone is selling one and it doesn't have any serial number. Later US Peaveys had the serial number on a sticker , normally on the control cavity cover. Seen here on my 2006 Cirrus. http://i.imgur.com/...

Very interesting info. Thanks very much.

Does it look like a Bubinga version to you?

I would be happy with a ball-park date. At the moment I have no idea whether it is 5, 10, 15 or 20 years old. Maybe more.
Aye , it's the bubinga version from 8 maybe 10 years back.

Re: Help with Bass Identification Please

I recently bought a Peavey bass on eBay but all attempts to find the serial number ( DNI A 0473 ) results in an 'unrecognised serial number' message. Any further info (date of manufacture and exact model name) would be much appreciated. Peavey keep no records for any BXP products. The serial number...
