Re: 115 international HC speakers

One last thing to consider. There is many different types of crossover filter types and slopes. There is the basic 3 like Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth or Bessel crossover among others. There is also how steep these filters are. 6,12,18,24 etc per octave. In the passive crossover design of the 115 the...

Re: 115 international HC speakers

The Bi-Amp Low jack is a straight shot to the woofer. The crossover section that takes 1500hz and above out of the woofer is no longer in series with the woofer. The Bi-amp Hi input goes into the crossover that splits the 22 horn driver and HT94 super tweeter at 8000hz. If you use the Bi-Amp Low inp...

Re: 115 international HC speakers

Okay this may be a stupid question but I will ask it anyway. I also have a pair of Peavey 115 International three way speakers. I have run them in full range and they sound great. I have searched the internet for a manual and I haven't found one. I would like to bi-amp the woofers for mids and the ...

Re: Peavey SP2 V2

One last comment to think about. Have you thought about Dual PA? Still have 2 speakers a side but have just vocals in 1 speaker and the rest of the band in the other. Have the band in the system that has the subs should you have some as the vocal speaker system often doesn't need subs to do the job....

Re: Peavey SP2 V2

In regard to the 20 degrees up, 70 degrees down coverage of the horn. The SPL drops as you go into the lower coverage of the horn. Less energy goes down 70 degrees. You'll find output decreases the lower you go on the horn's coverage pattern. This means the one upside down is not sending the same ou...

Re: Peavey SP2 V2

First of course make sure they are properly secured should you try this. When putting the top one upside down the 15 degrees up becomes 15 degrees down and will help lessen the overlap of coverage that normal horns may give. With the bottom speaker only going up 15 degrees and the one on top going d...

Re: Peavey MF2-X Crossover Schematic/Parts List Needed

The Peavey speaker listings call for a 1505-8 and 1505-8DT for the 115SC. It doesn't go into further detail. DT was for Deep Throw was it not? I don't recall. I don't know If you don't have these links. https://secure.peavey.com/serial-lookup/ https://assets.peavey.com/literature/manuals/80300801.p...

I seem to remember something like Deep Dish Technology but that was more than a few years ago. :?

Re: Who designed the original SP-3? I think it is unique and great

Well, with the SP2G frequency response one sees the "horn EQ" pretty well: the high frequency gain with a simple analog circuit cannot really be lower than 6dB/octave and the horn losses at high frequencies are smaller than the compensation. Newer horn shapes and drivers make for more even response...

Re: Who designed the original SP-3? I think it is unique and great

The question I have is HOW does Peavey get such flat response out of the SP3 ? LOL, the frequency response graph in the Peavey Literature looks almost like a straight line! Very Impressive! Well, look at this whitepaper, the bottom section about constant directivity horns. The SP3 uses a specific f...

Re: 115 international HC speakers

I just got a pair of 115 International HC 3 way loudspeakers and I can't find any info about them The Peavey 115 International had a 1505 Black Widow, a 22A on a CH3 flare and a HT94 super tweeter. The wattage rating may be on the back of them. They can be Bi-Amped if I remember right. You'd go int...

Re: Horn Mounting On Top Of Scoops Question

For the most basic of testing. Find out what the crossover point is your using. Let's say it's 1000hz. If you know how to do it reverse the polarity of ONE of the enclosures. Let's say you reversed the polarity at the amp by reversing the Pos. and Neg. wires at the amp with the cord that is feeding ...

Re: Peavey gps 3500 no sound

First do you here a click or 2 clicks when it powers on? Second is the amp in bridge Mode? If it doesn't "Click" when turned on or if it was in bridged mode and you took it out of bridge mode and it still doesn't work I'd send it to Peavey for proper repair. You may be able to have them send you an ...
