Re: PVI 6500 - Disabling Bluetooth Fade-In

I'm not aware of any fade-in feature...what program/app are you using to play the music?

I just tested one with my iphone (using Spotify), I didn't hear any fading of the signal.

Re: Peavey BT 14 Low Levels to DXRs

There should be no problems driving those speakers with a PV mixer. That mixer is capable of putting out +22dBu...that should be more than enough to drive almost anything.

What is your source?

Where are the meters registering on the mixer?

Re: Correct fuse for the XR800F

The 230V would be a 5mm x 20mm fuse.

Re: Correct fuse for the XR800F

Do you have a picture of where it says TL4A? As far as I can tell, the XR800F uses a fast-blow 8 Amp fuse. We either use 5mm x 20mm fuses or 1/4" x 1-1/4"fuses. Looking at that picture, I'd say you need the 1/4" x 1-1/4". Oh, I should have asked this first, is yours a 120V unit or a 230V unit? 120V ...

Re: Ok to run IPR-1600 without speakers connected?

Yes ok I see now you meant clipped amp input signal harmonics exciting the filter resonant frequency ... the detailed answer is much more interesting and valuable to me. I've been doing pro sound since the 80's I would not be sending clipped signal anywhere :) I'm sure you wouldn't, I didn't think ...

Re: Ok to run IPR-1600 without speakers connected?

You're right in that the amplifier is constantly putting out rail to rail square waves...however, they are at 400kHz. Not in the range of the LC tank circuit, where the extra gain is located. The 50kHz comes when you apply a signal that is grossly overdriven or clipped. Once a signal flat tops, it g...

Re: Ok to run IPR-1600 without speakers connected?

I've been designing products at Peavey with class d amps for the last 20 years...including one of the IC's you mentioned. TPA3116 I've run every one of them on my bench with no load with no problems. The problem with unloaded class d amps is the output filter (LC) gain at 50kHz or so. When that tank...

Re: Ok to run IPR-1600 without speakers connected?

Under normal conditions it is safe to run class d amplifiers with no load.

However, there is one situation where it can be dangerous to the amplifier. If there is no load and the signal is over-driven to the point of square waves, there can be damage done to part of the output filter.

Re: Peavey Escort -150 watt Powered PA Sys. w/ DDT & FLS

This is a "second" generation Escort PA system...it is basically the same as the first generation, but with a new paint/color scheme. We are currently on the 4th generation. There have been 3 generations of hardware since the first design, but there was one cosmetic upgrade...so I include it. https:...
