Ah, my mistake. I forgot your model is a "wind tunnel" style chassis, so the heat sinks are electrically live so not grounded?
I hope you have found teh problem.

Re: Repairing a CS1000. (newbie)
Well don't get trapped into assuming you have a bad part. Do any of the power transistors have low resistance to ground? As in maybe we left out a mica insulator under one of them? That sort of thing

Re: CS1200H
Oh you can switch modes with power on, but you risk loud noises into your speakers when you do. Really not hard to flip it off, switch it, and flip it back on. Your speaker is mono. I assume? And doesn't the usual connection come from 1+ and 1-? As opposed to 1+ and 2-? I would think nothing changes...

Re: Peavey CS800X in Stereo Biamped Mode - Only Mono Output
You have two input jacks for each channel, but those pairs are not stereo. Channel A simply has two jacks for your convenience. SO when you plug left and right into the pair, it just wires them together. Hence mono. Stereo biamp means one channel feeds the lows and the other channel feeds the highs....

Re: DPM C8 battery location/access
It has been too long, I don't specifically recall the screws. But I never worked on a keyboard I couldn't get into. But I can verify the leaking battery is to be avoided.

Re: Peavey Classic 50 Effects Loop Installation
I am in Lansing (well Mason actually), but I retired and my shop is gone. But I got a guy who works on my stuff now. He is in Lansing also. The web site is incomplete, but he does good work. Does repairs and also builds amps. Even builds his own cabinets. I am impressed. https://hattamps.com/ https:...

Re: Is there a difference between KB/A30 and KB/A50?
SOMETHING has to be different, they are not into being mysterious, but I don't know what it might be. Both are described as having 10" woofer with tweeter. On my dealer support portal the schematic file is labelled KBA30_KBA50, so they share a circuit/board at least.

Re: Repairing a CS1000. (newbie)
ON a channel you hsve twelve bbig transistors...TO3. Most of them are 8332 abd 8333. Those are outputs. Near the center are two different TO3s a 6506 and a 6507. Those ar the drivers. There is a 22 ohm 1w resistor near each one, near the 10 watt guys.

Re: 1979 Peavey Deuce VT / BW speakers questions
You can't damage amps by running high gain FX into the front. All it does is distort. The main output is 8 ohm tap, but the inner speakers are a 4 ohm combination. BUT THAT IS OK, it rarely affects an amp to be "off one notch" on impedance. However, the AUX jack is a 4 ohm tap, so if it makes you mo...

Re: Repairing a CS1000. (newbie)
TL072 and 5532 are both op amps. The 87478 or 13080 are not op amps. Three dual op amp ICs on the board plus the one other, which is an OTA. SAC187 - think of them like seat belts in your car. You want them there, but while working on the car, the belts do not have to be there. The car will work fin...

Re: KB100 repair issues
Those two resistors are dropping resistors for the zener regulated 15v supplies. It is normal for them to heat up. Um, your speaker wires are noy connected to the board. With the board out like that, do not let the back of it touch the metal chassis. Also do not operate the amp like that m0re than a...

Re: Repairing a CS1000. (newbie)
Stop. Don't throw parts at it. You look to have different ICs on th board, but chances are real good the amp used to work with those in it. 5532 and TL072 are both dual op amps. They will function in one another's place. The 5532 is nominally a lower noise part. Note in the schematic the 5532 are in...

Re: Is it repairable?mini max head
If it makes sound it is likely fixable. We just need to track down where the noise is coming from. Likely a failed semiconductor or two.
