Re: Peavey Delta Blues Footswitch Question

You have the amp? Unplug any footswitch, is the trem still working? As far as I know you do not need a FS to turn on the trem. SO trem is always on. Turn the depth to zero if you don't want trem.

Stomp switches are push on then push off.

Re: Parts for Peavey VTM Bias Mod

Either one. You need a 1uf cap there of sufficient voltage rating for that cathode follower stage. That does look like a film cap, so it likely need not be changed. They don't really get leaky like a 'lytic. On the drawing I'd have to say it looks to me like they put the + on the wrong end. Of cours...

Re: Studio Pro 50 volume loss

Oh dear. NEVER connect the speaker out of an amp to an input. Inputs are designed to take the half a volt or less of the guitar, or even one volt from a line level source, but the speaker output of an amp can be 25-30 volts or in that area, and can damage the input amp.

Re: Studio Pro 50 volume loss

The two resistors normally get hot. The cap right next to the hot resistors will get warm because it is next to them. You may have cleaned the jacks, but did you try a cord patched from Preamp out to Power amp in? How did you connect your Kasino to the power amp in? I sure hope you did not plug a co...

Re: Help me to find "Blue Marvel 12INCH 16OHM Speaker"

It would be a WHOLE lot easier if you told us what numbers were on the speaker and what amp it is for. Blue Marvel is not a specific speaker, it is a Peavey name for speakers they did not make themselves. I might suspect you are looking for a Classic 30 speaker, and if so, you'd find it a lot easier...

Unless you want to get away from 6L6s, pin 1 doesn't matter.

Re: Delay x speaker cable length

Time delay? The electric current moves through a wire at almost the speed of light. Light will go ALL the way around this earth seven and a half times in one second. Or put another way, in one NANOSECOND - a billionth of a second - electricity moves a little less than one foot. So even if one of you...

If the controls need cleaning, clean them. No point guessing if that is your issue.

Re: TNT130 bass amp cuts out

I would wager my lunch money that your POWER AMP IN jack is the issue. Plug a spare guitar cord from PREAMP OUT to POWER AMP IN. Does that make it work. If so you can run it that way as long as you like. Inside, I'd check the solder under that jack. Or the jack might need replacement. If you just wa...

Re: Parts for Peavey VTM Bias Mod

Those diodes are there to protect the transformer in the case of an open speaker, open speaker cord, or other failure of the speaker wiring. The amp will work fine without them, but you lose that protection. Sorta like your car will work fine if you remove the seat belts, you just no longer have tha...

Re: 5150 (1997) Tube Failure & More

OK, you pulled off a ribbon and after that it blew up a cap. My first suspect is you may have plugged a ribbon cable back on but off a pin one way or the other.

470 instead of 400 will be OK, but 390 would have been closer.
