Re: Peavey XXX 120W channel switch over a looper

Welcome to the forum. I am not aware of any such device or cable. I am confident you will have to set the knobs on the Clean, Crunch, and Ultra channels and those 3 "presets" are all you will get from a tone perspective. The footswitch is only switching relays inside the amp. If you want more than 3...

Re: Studio Pro 50 Board/Component Layout Diagram?

Hey, thanks dak. I truly appreciate your offer. Fortunately I found someone who has it. One stop shopping with both the schematic and board layout in it. I know Peavey is super busy as they still have not been able to get a copy to me. So I will go ahead and post it in case anyone else needs it. STU...

Studio Pro 50 Board/Component Layout Diagram?

I am helping a friend troubleshoot an issue with the Saturation tone quality in a Studio Pro 50. We have the schematic, but the board is not labeled. I do have an email in to Customer Service asking for the Layout Diagram, but I see from one of Roger's posts they still have limited staffing due to t...

Re: Neutral to ground bypass capacitor

Thank you for the warm welcome! I appreciate the time you took to respond. The recap kit that I ordered supposedly includes replacement caps to correct the safety risk involving the X type cap connecting neutral to ground. I attempted to ask the seller about what type of caps the replacements were,...

Re: Neutral to ground bypass capacitor

Welcome to the forum. This is not my area of expertise, but I will share what theory I remember. Capacitors on the mains lines are used for EMI and RFI filtering. The issue is if these capicitors should fail there could be an electrical shock hazard in the device being powered. Safety capacitors wer...

Re: Blue Marvel 10” speakers

I too am looking for advice. I’ve played a 410E Cabinet with a Classic 100 head for decades. Just got the rig out of storage and all 4 cones are torn. I’m having trouble finding Blue Marvels to begin with never mind finding what can be a suitable replacement. I’m assuming all four cones would be ra...

Re: classic 20 channel 2 not working right

Both lights stays green I even changed preamp tubes it still does it Does Channel 1 still operate normally after Channel 2 has failed? If you did not start with this, it is a good first step to take a 1/4" plug, spray some Deoxit on it, and plug/unplug it a few times in every jack on the amplifier....

Re: classic 20 channel 2 not working right

Welcome to the forum. Do the TSI lights stay green, indicating no concerning issues with the power tubes? After Channel 2 fails, does Channel 1 still operate normally? I am not sure if I have a schematic for the Classic 20MH. Let me check and I may have a suggestion(s). Both lights stays green I ev...

I do not own one, but there are Members here who do. They should be stopping by. If you do not already have the Operating Guide, it is available here. https://assets.peavey.com/literature/manuals/80301254.pdf It could be up to 28 years old, so you are on the right path to clean all the pots. Re: Peavey ED-100 Output Volume Cuts In Half

Welcome to the forum. It could be any number of things causing the volume drop. I am not familiar with the ED-100. Someone who is should be along. In the interim, my usual first step for any odd volume or tone issues is to get a cable, spray some Deoxit on the plug, and then plug/unplug it a few tim...

Re: Proper operation of a VTM 120- Concerned about overheating

Welcome to the forum. The VTM manual is available here. https://assets.peavey.com/literature/manuals/80300704.pdf I am not familiar with the Katana, but most Power Amp inputs are expecting a Preamp Output signal. That is a line level signal, likely 1V or less. I would expect that jack to feed into t...
