Re: Help!! Peavey 6505+ 112 combo cuts off

It will be a great outcome if the new tubes resolve it. They are accessible and easy to change. Please do let us know!

Re: Help!! Peavey 6505+ 112 combo cuts off

The two power tubes are 6L6GC. The phase inverter is in V5, which is a 12AX7. If you have been satisfied with your amp's sound, you should be able to check the brands of the old tubes and order those. Keep the old tubes. If these new tubes do not fix the issue you can put the old tubes back in and s...

Re: Help!! Peavey 6505+ 112 combo cuts off

You won't be out anything by trying this as sooner or later you'll need new power tubes anyway. Personally, I also replace the phase inverter tube when I replace power tubes.

Re: How to open up my Peavey 210 TX bass cabinet

I don't own a 210 TX, but if there aren't obvious screws holding a panel on the back then access will be thru the front. Look for screws in the corners, the center of the 4 sides and very center of the front grill. Sometimes there will be Velcro or male/female fasteners instead of screws.

Re: What IF....[ Chapter 8 ] Cincy's Repository

You remember...

Back in the day...

Before the pandemic...

Instead of watching people play music streamed to your computer...

You would go to some venue and see them play music live in-person :!:

Re: Super rare Peavey RP 500

The Pandemic has left Peavey, just like every other music industry company I know, running a bit behind schedule. If you can call Peavey, please do so. If not, wait and see who answers your post and keep trying to contact Peavey in the meantime.

Re: Help me to find "Blue Marvel 12INCH 16OHM Speaker"

Yeah, Peavey used that number on the "Blue Marvel Classic 12 inch 16 ohm MI etc." That was in my Classic 30 BT and they're still using that number for the speaker in my Classic 30 II. As Enzo already noted, there are lots of Blue Marvels out there. My Bandits have one, my Vypyrs have one, my XXL cab...

Re: Help me to find "Blue Marvel 12INCH 16OHM Speaker"

Whoever is building Blue Marvels builds them to Peavey specifications. So there probably will never be an exact OEM replacement. The Eminence Legends were "close" in specs, and Eminence built Blue Marvels at one point in the past, so they usually come up in discussions. Peavey is still making the Cl...

Re: Delta Blues 115 loses distortion

I don't have a DB, but I have a (similar circuit) Classic 30 and it can run warm. Although I have never had it lose distortion. If I'm playing my C30 outside on a hot day, I have been known to point a small desk fan to blow in the back. You might try the fan and see if yours still loses distortion. ...

Re: Peavey Vypyr X3 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp

This is interesting. It appears to be an updated VIP 3. A redesigned cabinet, an iOS application, Bluetooth communication, probably firmware improvements and whatever else I have missed. It also appears Peavey is updating the VIP 1 & VIP 2. Although the 2 & 3 seem to have gotten more of the updated ...

There is a "Demo" sticker on that box in your picture. That opens up some room for several different scenarios.

Windsor vs. New Butcher Tones?

If anyone owns, or has compared, both of these heads, do they cover the same tones? I have been able to get decent JMP to modified JCM 800 tones out of my Windsor. I'm curious if the new Butcher can do that as well. I am leaning towards the Butcher can get the modified JCM 800 tones, and maybe even ...

Re: Vypyr Tube 120 Mod

Nice win for you! The Power Sponge on the original Vypyrs wasn't designed to be a true attenuator. There is a Topic here where it was discussed. 120 watts is just stupid loud these days. I have several 100+ watt amps and I could not give them away as no one really needs that much power unless they a...
