I never trust these protection circuits. I am old school. Power amps on last with volume potentiometers turned down to zero. On shutdown turn volume potentiometers down to zero before turning the amp off. If you always do this you should never blow a driver due to turning on or off. Depending on the...

FYI. For those that don't know. The failure of older Black Widow Speakers that causes the speaker cone to lockup is the deterioration or the foam filter located in the magnet structure. Peavey CS 1000 channel dropout

Channel B of my CS 1000 drops out after short usage at low volumn. Any Suggestions? Where can I get a repair shop manual / schematic for troubleshooting?
