Re: Lights flashing in a pattern on new amp

On my Vypyr 60, the light show stopped when I plugged in my guitar.

Re: Vypyr amp and pedals help

For the amp models, are you using the green or red side? If you use the red side, you may find out there is too much distortion to be able to put it on top of the delay. One of the kickers of the original Vypyrs was there was no effects loop (which is what it sounds like you need). The 75s were all ...

Re: Vypyr amp and pedals help

Are you talking about actual pedals, or about "pedals" on the Vypyr?

And, what order do you have your pedals? I typically run drive pedals first, and then delay/reverb pedals. Works much better than the other way around.

Re: Ageing of Series 1 Vypyr 30

That's really too bad. I love the surf green look of that amp.

My Tube-60 still sounded good and still played nicely. The only problem was it started to re-boot at all the wrong times. I hope yours doesn't do that. Mine was relegated to home use.

Re: Gen 1 VYPYR Tube 120

Like dalrymple says, try turning the cable around. As my Tube 60 got older, I had issues with the cable. Re-seating it, swapping direction, ... all seemed to help at times. After doing things, I would re-boot, re-seat, re-boot, ... to get it to work. If the pedal lights up when you boot the amp, it ...

Re: Gen 1 VYPYR Tube 120

I know of no way to tell which voicing option is in effect ... once the amp power-up is complete.

Firmware level 1.58 implements voicing, with the following options:
1. Default voicing.
2. Darker voicing.
3. Brighter voicing.
4. (I think) Even brighter voicing.

Re: Gen 1 VYPYR Tube 120

My experience comes from a Tube-60 ... and I say do not update the firmware until you absolutely, positively are forced to do so. If your amp is performing well with its current firmware level - then leave it. There are not a whole lot of "new" firmware levels available. Peavey stopped producing the...

Re: RIP

Fare thee well, Sir Vypyr. I knew thee when thou wast just a child. When thou wast young, thou wast fun to be with. However, thy mentors knew not of the subtle powers buried with thee. None could pull the sword from the stone and unlock thy tones for all to hear. Alas, fare the well, fare thee well....

is the noise gate on the amp set up right?

This is exactly what I was going to mention. Beat me to it.
The Vypyr noise gate has a lot to do with sustain (or the lack thereof).

Re: Getting awful quiet here in Vypyrworld.

I keep checking back from time to time. Like others have said, not a lot going on. It does seem the Vypyr series will become a speed-bump in Peavey's history. Too bad. When it came out, they were ahead of the curve. Somehow, they let up on the gas, and by the time they realized it, the modeling worl...

Re: New Vypyr coming?

Given all of the difficulties with the Pro series though, I doubt they will offer anything more. any difficulties were caused by Peavey themselves - there was absolutely no marketing effort put into it. i bought my Pro a year after it was released. it was shipped to a local Guitar Center for pickup...

Re: New Vypyr coming?

Should have never sold my Vypyr Tube 60 :/ I have a hard time letting go of amps I like. If I ever got a smaller place I'd be screwed. Plus, you never get what they're worth to you, and rarely even get what they're worth. I'm the same way. Once I get an amp I like, I have difficulty getting rid of ...
