Re: Almost 2 years since an update?
I sort of wish Peavey would just officially kill off Revalver. I come back here about every six months hoping to hear they are at least beta testing something or even fixing a bug or two and yet, it is always a wasteland... sometimes there will only be like one or two posts over periods of months. I...

Re: VK20MH upgrade
Ask him if there is any way to mod the 6505MH to turn off MSDI completely. I suffured through *many* bad cab sims, having come of age in the 80s/90s and it is the worst sounding cab simulation I have ever heard. It is almost like the person designing had never even heard a cab simulation before and ...

Gain staging. Learn it. Love it.

Re: 6605mh lead channel question
Yep, it's an extremely high gain preamp ckt. So the Red starts out around where the Green channel sounds maxed out with the crunch (i.e. it's already heavy enough @ 1 to very hard rock) by 3 or so you're into metal. At 5 or so, mine is tapped out in terms of what I consider usable gain and changes a...

Re: Peavey MH owners: attention with Speaker Defeat mode!
I had the amp for about 2 weeks by now. And when i got it form gc i first try it with the speaker defeat because i was waiting for a cable to conect it directly to my speaker. And i started to play for about 30 min. Then the tsi indicators got red and the sound got low. I put the amp to stand by an...

That is killer news. Thanks Roger!Roger Crimm wrote:Sorry I was not more clear, but that was exactly what I said. The MSDI emulation is switched OUT of the direct out when the speaker defeat switch is used.Elric wrote: I want a PREAMP only signal for my FX unit with NO Peavey cab emulation.

Re: 6505MH Non-cab line out?
The output is switched to an internal dummy load when the speaker defeat is used. The MSDI is switched out of the signal path altogether. Sorry but that response does not even make sense wrt the question and the second part directly contradicts the manual. I want to know if: When the speaker is def...

Re: questions about the Classic 20 MH
Fair enough. Everyone has different tastes. Best of luck! Thank you! I do know, however what you meant in your previous post. There are certainly amps that are more suitable for metal, like the 6505 for instance, but since I am looking for a one-amp solution, I want to try to get a metal sound out ...

6505MH Non-cab line out?
Quick question, re the 6505mh. One application I would have for this unit would be recording direct. I have an external cab emulation capable FX unit. I was thinking I would rather use my FX unit's impulse response modeling than the MSDI output. It is possible to use the speaker defeat and switch an...

Re: questions about the Classic 20 MH
TBH, you need another amp. I owned a C30 for ~15 years. I used different gear for my metal sounds. It's not in there.

Re: 6505MH overheating resolved
Do you happen to have a S/N range when this production update went into effect? No, there is not a range. I am not sure how useful it would be going forward if there were. Well, S/N > a certain value would guarantee that the amp will have the production update. Thus, a customer could know whether t...

Re: 6505MH overheating resolved
Yes, a change involving the spec on a couple of 40 cent parts was implemented in production. Do you happen to have a S/N range when this production update went into effect? As noted in the other thread I am still considering buying one of these brand new but have been holding off; partially out of ...
