Re: Installing Speakon connectors into older Speakers
I finally acquired all the parts I need to convert my Peavey 3020ht cabinets to Speakon connectors. These connectors are Combo connectors so they will also accept 1/4 inch plugs too. 3020speaker-1.jpg 3020speaker-2.jpg 3020speaker-3.jpg 3020speaker-4.jpg 3020speaker-5.jpg 3020speaker-6.jpg 3020spea...

Re: Rebuilding Four SP-2 Cabinets
I will use the matched SP-2Ti cabinets for smaller sound systems, or as part of a large system as Side Fill monitors or Near Field speakers on the Mains.
The 2 unmatched speakers would be best for for stage monitors for the drums or bass guitar. Could also be used as Delay speakers on the mains

I use a light coat of black semi-gloss on woofers all the time without any change in sound.

Re: Newbie help with old hisys xt2 pa speakers
That wiring is in fairly bad shape.
I'm seeing a simple Horn Protection Hi Pass filter on that circuit board.
The Woofer will connect directly to the incoming signal and the Tweeter will connect through this filter.

Rebuilding Four SP-2 Cabinets
I have just rebuilt 4 Peavey SP-2 cabinets. A club was going out of business and gave me a vanload of blown up Peavey gear and these 4 cabinets were part of the booty IMG_3219.JPG I always change out the jacks on the back panel from the old 1/4 inch to the newer Speakon twist lock connectors, these ...

Re: Building an Old School system based on DTH-1 and 415 Sub
If it was me I'd go 3 way. The 415's per side 45hz to 150hz if you want to push. The 2 10's in the DTH-1's 150hz up to the 1200hz to 1600hz range. The horns going from there. Then I'd but the 4 - 18 inch subs laid down in the center in front under the front lip of the stage ( or try beside the 415'...

Re: Building an Old School system based on DTH-1 and 415 Sub
Well it is a 4-Way system with 18 inch 15 inch 10 inch Horn So all the crossover points will scale up to properly distribute the power. When I rebuild 2 more of the 415's I may consider making a 3-way system out of it. The crossover I am using is a Peavey V4X analog . Priced some VSX digital x-overs...

Also I'm fairly sure that the mixer just shows up as a USB Device, not as a Peavey Mixer.

Re: Building an Old School system based on DTH-1 and 415 Sub
Sorry this has taken so long , been feeling slow for a coupla days. IMG_3100.JPG So this is half of the new Sound Rig that I'm working on. two SP-118's on the left with 4 ohm drivers, 415 cabinet in the center split into two 4 ohm loads, and the DTH-1 High/Mid on the right at 4 ohms for the mids and...
