Re: Looking For My First Amp

That’s a great amp. I like the Blazer too, same amp as Rage except includes reverb.
Those amps have great tone for a small combo.
If you ever have the chance to run it through a 112, 212, or 412 cabinet you will be blown away at how good it sounds.

Good to hear from you again.
Unfortunately posting pictures does not work as of late. A third party site is the only option.

Put together a list of the items as a start…

Re: Peavey T-60 - Fake Neck?

The serial number is only on the back of the neck. No way to tell if a different T60 neck was installed.

That’s a good looking amp. How does it sound?

Re: Valveking mod issues

This will all sound obvious for suggestions:
Make sure all of the tubes are in tightly.
If all you did is C115, I would check the polarity and solder joints on that cap. Also check anything that may have been disconnected inadvertently.

Re: Analog dry through on amp reverb

Ah. Ok. The amplifier is analogue. The reverb is only an effect. I dry signal remains straight through analogue. It works similar to a spring reverb tank. There is a drive circuit for the reverb that mixes with the dry signal.

Since when is a Blue Marvel in the Bandit?
I had thought it was the Sheffield and then a Celestian.

Re: PVi portable

Did you remove the chassis from the case? Typically the chassis is secured to the case with screws thru the bottom.
Did you remove all of the knobs?

Re: Classic 20 MH

Oval logo is the original. It is interesting for the new one this is the first time I recall the Peavey pointy logo be installed on the product with the “eavey” portion parallel with the edges of the product. Typically the lower points are parallel with the edges of the product and the “eavey” porti...

Re: 4x12's... Windsor vs HP412 vs XXL

I would go with the HP412. In general I think it’s a better cabinet. But specifically the Windsor is more classic rock voiced.

Not possible to swap the covers. The pickups are epoxied into that plastic container that becomes the cover.

Re: T-40 Bass With No Serial / Prototype?

Post a photo. It is easier to understand what you are asking. Lots of people of the era would remove markings on Peavey gear. Thinking that others didn’t believe a serious musician would play a Peavey. As if you could remove the Peavey name from a T40 and mistake that bass for a Fender or something….

Re: Jf-1 wiring diagram and parts list.

Sorry I hadn’t replied earlier…I missed your post. I reworked a JF-1 a few years ago. It is just a typical Gibson setup as I recall: 1. Two humbuckers 2. Toggle switch 3. Volume per pickup 4. Tone per pickup 5. Output jack I don’t exactly recall the values, but most likely follow a Les Paul schemati...

Re: Volume Knobs

I don’t have that bass, but typically on bass it is a volume per pickup.

Set the controls as needed to get the tone you desire.

Here is a set on eBay.

I’m sure this isn’t a set from 1987. This appears to be early to mid 90s.
