Well. The PVM520i or 520TN is considerably different from that. If you have experience with the 520s and didn’t like them, then let us know what was wrong with them.

Re: Speaker Question for ‘86 Backstage Plus?

I recently picked up one of these as well. Like you I da one back in the 80s. It was my first amp. I haven’t changed the speaker out, but I did add a speaker jack to it for an extension cabinet. The amp sounds great connected to a simple 112SX (silver stripe cabinet with a Sheffield 1230). I have a ...

Re: Kick Drum - PVM 520i

Never had much luck with Peavey branded kick mics and always head back to the industry standard Shure Beta52a with Beta57 on instruments. Curious as to which Peavey Bass Drum mic you are referencing. I only know of series of mics Peavey marketed as a drum kit that includes like five or so microphon...

Re: can I replace the Peavey speakers with other brands like Celestion without affecting the sound quality or power?

Matching the impedance is key to not harm the amplifier.

As far as effecting the sound, for sure that will happen. It is a matter of perspective to you on whether or not it is a positive or negative effect.

Re: Kick Drum - PVM 520i

I just recently tried the 520i on acoustic upright piano. It sounds great. Aim at the back of the sound board. Full and articulate.

Re: Can u tell me if this is an Original Peavey bass?

Peavey International Series was a thing in the late 1990s. I never saw it with the PVi logo. The headstock shape is correct. I suspect it is legit, as why fake that?

Re: Rock Master Preamp Footswitch

Most likely you will have to modify the internal circuit and add relays. Then wire the relay controls out to a jack and configure a foot switch for them.

Not impossible, but a lot of work.
