Hi to everyone at the board's.

I have just bought a Vypyr 75 amp and have a Wolfgang Peavey Special 1998 Sunburst guitar.
I am a massive VH fan and have followed the band for more 25 years.
I briefly learnt guitar as a teenager and now really have the bug to learn it at 39.Middle age crisis?
I am taking leasons and slowly getting there.
I am wondering does anyone now best settings on the amp for a VH sound?

I was told the 6505 setting is like the 5150 amps?True?
Also that the Brit setting has abit of VH sound?

Ed uses the flanger and phaser and chorus on lot of songs which sound good on the amp.

Hope someone can give me some information.Looks like a great forum looking forward to spending some time here.

Thanks..

Hello from one VH fan to another.

I have the 75 and have not had the best luck finding earlier VH tones from it. Using the 6505 green with either the tube screamer or Xwild pedal as a boost does pretty good. There is just something about his earlier tone that the Vyp can't get, no surprise I guess. BTW, if anybody has some good settings for this, please post them.

However, 90's Hagar era VH is a bit easier. Here's a pretty good example.

As for learning more about his effects and settings here are two great places to start.

6505 red, play with gain to your liking, lots of mids, phase with 2 lights on both parameters, some reverb and a touch of delay. And a PAF style bridge pickup.

for one thing its not easy getting eddies tone on anything. they are many websites trying to cop eddies tone and its very hard to do.
but you can get some cool tones that sound good playing vh with the vypyr.
